Panasonic was relocating their North American office to Newark, NJ. They wanted a trusted internal solution to recommend local businesses for both employees and those preparing to visit the newly built headquarters.
A mobile-first experience: Panasonic Cityscapes
An internal facing responsive solution was developed which allowed employees access to helpful location and POI data such as transportation, restaurants and hotels. In the discovery process, there were discussions about using Yelp or Foursquare, but it became clear the solution needed to be authentic and aggregate and curate only Panasonic employee content. There was a robust filter feature to help sort through the category results. The intuitive rating system allowed employees to contribute honest reviews to help guide fellow employees during their stay in Newark. There was a simple profile for each employee once they signed up, and users could store “favorites” or send recommendations directly to other employees.
